Chinese architecture and design have only come into being over the past twenty years. Practitioners are at the forefront of negotiations between global influence and pre-communist era traditions in an effort to produce something distinctly contemporary and distinctly Chinese.

London’s Victoria and Albert Museum has a fascinating exhibition of contemporary Chinese architecture and design running until July 13th.
